Does anyone have any Voodoo Amps deluxe mod clips? all the clips on Voodoo Amps site are only the standard mod.

Thanks

no reply's yet? has anyone even had it done? my singer has an '82 jcm800 2203 with the delux mod and it's friggin' awesome. i want to hear a 3ch dual rec so i know if it's worth saving my $$$. it's a lot of green for a struggling musician.

I'm working on some but I'm new to the home studio game so I'm having issues dialing in the true sound in my recordings.

Frankly I would defer to Voodoo. They told me that the deluxe mod is probably more subtle than the standard mod (eliminate buzz, low volume cranked tone, usable EQ). I've done an A/B with a stock Rectoverb and found the biggest differences to me were the buzz/distortion character, tone at low volumes, the EQ, and the quality of the clean channel (headroom, dynamics, chime). Trace told me the improvements I noticed in the clean channel were likely due to the Mercury Mag OT.

I'll post some clips after I work through my recording issues but in reality I think what you'll hear in them is the quality of my budget recording gear Vs Voodoo's so it won't be a fair comparison. I think my post-mod Rectoverb dialed in sounds very much like their DR standard mod clips. I would think the deluxe change would be hard to capture in recordings but I don't know.

I listened to the clips, and frankly I cannot hear a big difference from what mine sounds like. I realize you lose something in the recording process, but seriously, what is this mod supposed to do? It did not sound any different than mine without the mod.

i really want to hear one with the mercury magnetics OT, My singer has a delux modded '82 JCM800 that sounds god-like. and i can't help wonder what it would do for my Dual Rec.

I will let you know in about 3 weeks, just sent my 3 channel dual rec off this week for the deluxe mod.......

It's absolutely useless to post clips unless you do an A/B comparison. That means you have to mic the cab with the unmodified amp first, then you mod it and while not having touched anything of the recording setup, record the modified amp. Re-amping would be even better, so that the exact same guitar signal will hit the input of the amp. Then you'll hear what a mod does and what it doesn't do.
Posting clips and saying, "hey this is the modded amp and it sounds great!", is just ridiculous and has no worth at all.
