hi i played a lonestar classic head yesterday, it had the blue and steel front. im sure it only had 100w-50w. is the scaling 10w feature only a new thing or did i miss it. id also like to hear some thoughts on it, ive got a stilleto ace aswell but the lonestars clean and breakup tones blew me...

the 800s were built PTP in the first couple years of production. i was told to look for the ones before 83-84. after that they went to circuit boards. doesnt change the voicing but there easier to service i suppose.

ive got 2 weeks to go and ill finally be able to play this thing. its built by peter crossley here in australia. going for a george lynch and a pearly gates in it. its got a 3 way toggle plus push pull splitting in all positions. what do you think?

ive got a 2006 ace head as youve heard the amp is very bright, but its not a fault of the amp its supposed to be like that , mesa is completely upfront about it in there advertising about how this amp is designed to cut through a live mix. the amp is deffinately not thin but yes its treble...

ok so im just about to put this thing through a window, i had issues with it a couple days ago with noise and turned out to be a faulty 12ax7. got it replaced and was working great yestereday. now the only mode i can get to work is fat clean, all the others have no sound at all. help.

amp sounds perfect, lost alot the high end i was struggling with and the amps sounding the best ive heard it. really give it a good cranking last night and am very pleased. as far as i know he only replaced the one 12ax7, not really sure which position it was. thanks for your help.

my trusty amp tech found the problem, he was quiet puzzled by it though, he never thought hed find it to be a faulty 12ax7 from the noises it was making. to begin with he thought is was a faulty pot. thanks guys

wouldnt dream of selling it. its my third head this year. have had two australian amps made up aswell but the mesa still has its own thing. just a question, if your not using hard bypass does the send level of the fx loop have to be on zero. if its not can there be an adverse effect?

hi my stilletto ace head is making this horrible buzzing sound in fluid drive mode. its the first time ive experimented with turning the drive up in this mode. i have to keep the drive dial below 11.00 or else it happens. tite gain mode is functioning fine. before you ask this isnt feedback or...

i find my ace needs the volume controls 11-12.00 in true bypass. my fender is 60 watts and sits at 9.00.the deuce should surely be pumping at 12.00. but if you see the manual most of the suggested settings are about that, and as others have said the pots taper up more than most amps. id still...

the cabinet was built by mark watson from sydney, australia who sadly closed his business a couple weeks ago. the cab's made of solid pine with full dovetails. the weber speakers have helped me alot taming the brightness of the amp. no more treble spike! my favourite modes at the moment are fat...

cab is locally built fitted with weber silver bells. its just a brilliant combination of amp and cabinet.

ive got greenbacks in my cabinet i use with my stiletto ace head. im afraid it doesnt really tame the brightness of the amp too much. the best approach is to roll the prescence off the amp as its seems to be the main culprit.
