Weight of a 2x12 Roadster Combo?

I 2nd getting the Head and 2X12 Cab. 100 lbs is too much for me. Plus, you have the option to get the Rectifier 2X12 Cab which will have more of a "stack" sound. The Roadster Cab should sound more like the combo if you're more into that. I'm very happy with my setup.

    Which MESA 212 Cab?

I purchased my Roadster Head last night. It's amazing! The best amp I've ever purchased (and I've had many). The Rectifier 2X12 Cab is a great match for my tones and playing style. I couldn't be happier.

    Which MESA 212 Cab?

I bought a Rectifier 212 Cab today at GC and it's awesome. I'll be adding a Roadster Head soon. I've had Stiletto Ace, F-100, and Lonestar 50/100 & Special Combos, but I'm moving on to the Head/212 Cab setup. I wish I'd done this a few years ago. Much easier to transport and sounds great.

    Which MESA 212 Cab?

Thanks for the input. The Roadster sounded awesome through the 212 Rectifier Cab.

    Which MESA 212 Cab?

If you were to buy just one MESA 212 Cab, which would you choose? a) Rectifier 212 b) Roadster/Stiletto 212 I'm looking into a Roadster Head. I tried it with a Rectifier 212 and it was great. Curious as to how the smaller cab sounds. Thanks!

Anyone been to a Mesa Boogie Clinic ?

Just about two years ago I attended a Mesa Boogie John Petrucci clinic in Detroit. I thought it was cool Especially if you're into Dream Theater or John's playing. The amp discussion that day centered around the Road King. He spent most of his time playing in the "vintage" setting and played...

    5150 III Head

It looks like Musician's Friend has temporarily pulled the 5150 III amp info. It did pull up when I searched "EVH" the other day. I'm sure it's still in the GC flyer though. Like you say, cool amp but way too much $$$ for what you get. I'll take my Stiletto anyday. The Peavey 6505 Series is...

    5150 III Head

No Typo. The 5150 III is out. Go to www.musiciansfriend.com to see the specs. They haven't loaded a picture yet. I got a flyer in the mail yesterday from GC about the EVH gear. On Sunday, June 17 the Platinum GC Stores or supposed to have a Relic and 5150III on display. The new GC flyer has a...

    5150 III Head

My local GC has the 5150 III Head in stock. It was connected to a Peavey Cab when I auditioned it. Cool amp. Three independent channels and finished in black tolex. The white tolex looks better (IMHO). Didn't seem as noisy as the originals. The clean was ok. The crunch & lead rocked. The Head is...

    Carvin Legacy questions

I tried a Legacy Combo and Carvin had to ship three units out until one worked correctly. I was overall disappointed with it and sent it back. The build quality varied from unit to unit. The sound was good, but not great. The reverb was horrible. The customer service was ok. It took three weeks...

    New LSClassic...thoughts?..anyone try it?..help deciding?

Barry, Are you the guy that's been published on the Mesa website under user reviews? If so, your setup looks great. Good letters. Look forward to your Lonestar Classic review.

How do you transport a large combo?

I'm thinking about getting the Clamshell Gig Bag for my Stiletto 112 Combo. http://www.studioslips.com/ I already have the Rock & Roller Cart to move it. I won't be taking it out that much. For my Lonestar Special 112 Combo I bought the Gator 112 case and works great.

    just joined the stiletto clan

I love my Stiletto Ace 112 Combo, and I just bought a Lonestar Special 112 Combo to compliment it. Low watt amps are the way to go for me.

General question; Combo as opposed to head?

With the Stiletto Ace and Roadster Combos, the speaker is completely sealed off. The tubes would probably last longer than in a traditional openback combo. I'm not too worried about it.

I own a Roadster, am I missing anything?

I watched Dream Theater's "Score" DVD over the weekend, and Petrucci's tone is amazing. If he was using the Lonestar/Roadking rig, he had ne problems getting a great lead tone. I attended one of his Mesa Boogie clinics nearly two years ago, and he said most of the he's using the "vintage"...

Any advice on shipping a heavy tube amp?

Another option (and can be costly) is to have your local shipper pack the amp. This way, you're covered under the insurance. Collecting a claim can be tricky if packed by the customer.

Finally settling into disappointment with the Roadster

I had the Lonestar Series 112 Combos and loved the cleans, but the overdrives left me wanting more than just blues/roots type tones. I tried the F-100 212 Combo, and it was cool, but not the answer for me. Now, I have the Stiletto Ace 112 Combo and absolutely love it. This amp does everything I...

Who Plays Straight Into Their Mesa?

EB/MM JP6 Candy Apple Red (fully loaded) into Peterson StroboStomp II into Stiletto Ace 112 Combo using PW Circuit Breaker/standard cables. Occasionally a pedal or two, but nothing I must have. Dunlop Jazz III's a must.

    roadster complaints and praises

I think the Stiletto Ace has plenty of gain. On the Fluid Drive mode I only have the gain around 1:00 and it's ripping. Checkout the Guitar One CD-ROM with Gilbert/Petrucci on the cover (a few months back). Petrucci plays through the Stiletto Ace Combo during his lesson, and it sounds awesome...

    roadster complaints and praises

I highly recommend trying the Stiletto. It can do a little of everything. No switching, popping, or reverb issues (no reverb circuit). Great for rhythm & lead. If you're into Satriani, Vai, & Malmsteen but would prefer to invest in a Mesa Boogie as opposed to the above artist's...
