there has been talk on other forums that you can run 6l6's in el34 mode. that is with tube/bold settings. anyone familiar with this?

If you have it done by an authorized mesa tech, it doesn't void the warranty. My little problem is, since i live 2 hours from my mesa tech, he told me to have the mod done up here, since i got the schematic straight from mesa. I think, if the mod is done according to print, your warranty...

Have your fx loop modded to serial. Im getting that done on mine right now. I have a schematic for it as well. Got it from Mesa Boogie.

The 5150 cabinet is pretty bright too. You might want to look into a darker cabinet. Dimarzio Tone Zones help too.

I use Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish. you can get it at any auto parts store for about $5. It did wonders for my Diamond plate. Just takes a while to rub completely off.
