So I've just scored a Mark V, Overwhelmed. Help?

I could suggest something... I don't know how productive this will be for you, but... start at the "Clean" amp on Channel 1. for a whole practice session just use "Clean" on channel 1. play some clean stuff, then find a fun overdriven sound with it by bringing up the gain knob and the master...

    Mark V: IIC+ Tone Characteristics Question/Discussion

At FIRST, when I got this Amp, I had to rush to find some good settings to play with my band... I was Allll about Mark IV setting I guess that was just kind of what I was looking for. but my lawd,,, I think the IIC+ is actually the better selection now. It just seems more manageable...

Best way to get a saturated sound at low volume?

OH I now see that the GT10 is a multi-FX... I don't know how well this is going to work in your FX loop... but I use an MXR Custom Comp Compressor stombox before the amp, and it can be set to help achieve a more saturated sound. I'd think your GT 10 would have the same capability...

Best way to get a saturated sound at low volume?

I get my best low volume tones from the Mark V when I have the Master UP HIGH, the Output around 9:00 or 10:00 at 90W and Variac ON. Loud, right? No, I cut the volume down with a Volume Pedal in my FX loop. Also, if you wanna really saturate yourself at a low volume, you could use a light...

Just got a Mark V.....Channel 2 suggestions needed

I'm not even looking at my amp right now... but this is a good setting... like the one above Crunch 90 Watt. Gain 3:00 Master 1:00 Presence 10:30 Treble 2:00 Mid 10:00 Bass 10:30 EQ Preset 1:30 This is not what Original Poster is looking for though. I agree with the notion that the breaked...

I wish my Channel 3 would be more responsive.

Whoa buddy. I've tried allll SORts of settings. and I have read the manual. I just got frustrated over not being able to get the sound I was looking for just one time and came here with a question... I'll answer these questions though as I'm sure it'll help clear things up. My guitar...

I wish my Channel 3 would be more responsive.

Okaaayyy. It seems I need to re-evaluate how I'm setting my 3rd channels. When I was really noticing this problem I was running the gain at 2:00 - 3:00. I use IIC+, Extreme, and IV all pretty much the same amount. Sooo lets say I back off the gain and re-create the saturation I'm...

I wish my Channel 3 would be more responsive.

Hey. I think I've heard this problem stated before. But I would appreciate help that ya'll could give regarding this. Channel 3 does not seem to respond to EQ settings very well. The preset knob makes things sound nice. But the Sliders seem to just miss the mark no matter what. I can't seem...

Begun to bond with Extreme mode...

I think "Extreme" works as a name for the mode. It fits when you think about how the highs and lows are more in your face, and also that it's just plain louder. It being really tight does not make it less extreme. There's another amp out there on the market, a hot seller with the kids I...

Channel 3 too muddy and missing compared to edge/crunch?

Hey, I've had my Mark V for 7 months now... The advice given so far sounds good. I'll offer up something specific for you as well. On Channel 3. If you feel like using the sliders, start off with the advice from ScreamingDaisy with the Treble knob at 2:00 and the Bass knob at 10:30, and find...

Mark V Preset Knobs... Anyone use them?

YES!! I use the preset knob on channel 3, 45 Watt, Mark IV for recording in my home! and that'll be the left guitar. I'm double tracking of course and the right guitar is channel 3, 90 Watt, Mark IV with Sliders. It's nice. I can get two different tones with the same amp (the Mark IV...

    Amazing Mark V discovery!

See I didn't realize this. I'll try it. While the FX loop is engaged, Does anybody notice a "tone suck" when switching the FX button on the foot switch? I've noticed this for sure... it's a drop in volume and deadening of the sound. This would mean there is 3 tiers of tone on the amp: Hard...

Can I run my Mark V directly into a computer with Slave?

Hey, maybe you can help/clarify. I just bought an M-Audio profire 2626 (a firewire interface). What exactly does Impulse Responses in my DAW mean? start from square one if you can. I have no idea what you are talking about. And can guitar rig 3 be considered a cab simulator?

Did Mesa fix the Mark V footswitch problem yet?

I thought I was alone with this problem.

Can I run my Mark V directly into a computer with Slave?

Ooookaayy... I've found that rigging this directly produces an ungodly cat hiss guitar tone. I'm going to stick with recording the amplifier with my SM57... what benefit is this Slave feature supposed to provide?
