How Do You Position Your Amp (LSS 410) From The Wall?

I've heard the term "bloom" when referring to amps before, but I'm not sure of the meaning. Can you explain "Bloom"? Thanks, Res

How Do You Position Your Amp (LSS 410) From The Wall?

I received my LSS 410 today and I've got to say, I made the right decision by going with the 410 version. The LSS 112 was super, but the 410 is so SWEET! It didn't take any time to dial in heavenly tone. I was wondering how you folks position your open back amps from the wall, especially you...

Mesa's Website, Brochures and Owner's Manuals, Missing Info

I don't disagree with your reasoning at all. If it's the only way your going to sample the tone, it's a lot better than any written description. Res

Mesa's Website, Brochures and Owner's Manuals, Missing Info

I disagree. I think it's smart to "NOT" have sound clips on the website. There is no way it would sound anywhere near as good coming through even the best computer speakers. I think something like a Fender G-DEC sound clip is good. But Amps of the caliber of Mesa/Boogie? You've got to hear it...

Mesa's Website, Brochures and Owner's Manuals, Missing Info

Thanks for the dimensions and weight. As far as the Dealer goes, they have been in business for over 50 years. The owner I deal with is a long time musician who has worked with national acts. He has also worked in studios. In other words, he knows his s#*t. The employees are all long time...

Wrong on all counts. I did get a laugh out of you and your post though. Res

Mesa's Website, Brochures and Owner's Manuals, Missing Info

I have no such animal (pro net pricing) in the packet that came with the amp. But, this info should be in the Mesa Brochure. It's a beautiful brochure with gorgeous photos, It's just missing information that should be there. And the Website is the same way. I'm not trying to trash Mesa/Boogie...

Mesa's Website, Brochures and Owner's Manuals, Missing Info

I just don't understand why a company like Mesa/Boogie, who makes great equipment, can be so lacking when it comes to important information in the printed material and Website. I recently bought a Lone Star Special. I can't find information on weight or dimensions anywhere. And how about photos...

Survey, Are Pedals Through a LSS Considered Taboo?

Well, you know how the "Purist" can be. Look at all the people who think nothing is better than an old Tele. That's a bunch of C#*P. I was around in the days of the "old Tele's. The new Guitars are so much better. to each their own. Res

Mesa Lone Star Special, 12 or 410?

I was wondering what tone difference there is between the 410 version or the 12 version of the LSS. I haven't been able to try a LSS 410. I had a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 410 that I traded in on the LSS 112. When I had compared the Hot Rod DeVille 410 and the DeVille 212, the 410 was cleaner...

Survey, Are Pedals Through a LSS Considered Taboo?

Oh, I do intend to use what I want. This thread is just an attempt to see how you folks feel about this subject. I'm not going to put inferior pedals with the LSS. I'm looking for pedals with transparent qualities and absolutely True Bypass circuits. I can see myself going with a good Chorus...

Lone Star Special, Effects Loop Question?

plan-x, I called Customer Service at Mesa and they confirmed what I said. It's perfectly alright to use the LSS without anything plugged into the effects loop and have the switch set to "Loop In". In fact, it's preferable because this allows the use of the Output and Solo knobs to be used in the...

Lone Star Special, Effects Loop Question?

I realized after I wrote the post that the "Output Knob" didn't match the volume because it was adjusted lower. Duh! But as far as not using "loop in" when I'm not using effects? I was told that I should use the "Loop In" all the time because gives you the opportunity to use the "Output and...

Lone Star Special, Effects Loop Question?

I've been having the volume drop off and sputter on my LSS. I called Customer Service at Mesa and they said to check the Effects Loop. I was using it with the switch on "Loop In" as to use the floor switch. Mesa told me the next time this happens, switch it to "Hard Bypass". I did exactly that...

Are Keeley Compression Pedals The Best?

I have a Barber Tone Press on the way. I'm sure the Keeley Compression Pedal is excellent from the reviews I've read. But, this is my thinking on the two compressors. As a read through a ton of reviews on these two fine compression pedals, I noticed that there were a fair number of reviews...

Lone Star Special, Volume Drop Problem, HELP!

I'm glad your LSS solved the problem on it's own. But, I'd bet it's going to raise it's ugly head again sometime in the future. Even if it stops doing this, I'd be looking over my shoulder all the time. Murphys Law, It will happen again at the worst possible time. Res

Lone Star Special, Volume Drop Problem, HELP!

The guitar cable was the first thing I tried. "if you notice it sputtering or topping out and slowly coming back up to full volume." This is exactly what the amp is doing. I understand the tubes being a necessary evil. I hope that's all it is. The reliability issues I've read about were...

Lone Star Special, Volume Drop Problem, HELP!

Oh No! My new LSS has a problem. I'll be playing and the volume will drop down. It doesn't drop off altogether, it just drops down. It will drop down and come back up. It's happened on both the strat and tele, so it's not the guitar. I've checked to make sure the tubes are all seated well and...

Survey, Are Pedals Through a LSS Considered Taboo?

John, the pedals you mentioned are my favorites also. What Wah, Chorus and Delay pedals are you using? By the way, I bet playing naked "DID" have an effect. Effect on the people around you that is. Maybe if I played naked, no one would notice how bad I play. Res
