    Likely retarded question

Hahahaha, thanks for the replies guys. No its like, the rubber feet most of the time. It's not a creaky noise either, it's just like a very very subtle "tok". If feels solid as all hell when I pick it up, so you guys are right I should chill out.

    Likely retarded question

For Rectifier owners K this'll probably sound fucking ridiculous, but I'm pretty well obsessive compulsive so tiny **** bugs me until I can find an answer. Does the cabinet of your Rec ever sometimes SLIGHTLY make a creak/knock noise if you pick it up/lean on it/press on it/etc.? I know it's...

help me with my dual rec

To be honest man thats not the amp for those tones.

    Recto owners!

Well yeah. I heard somewhere that like 95% of problems with tube amps are caused by the tubes. So I'm gonna throw a whole new set in and see what's goin on.

Alright, looks like I'm gonna order up a fresh set of JJs. Does anyone else have a little buzz when you turn up the output control? Will that be fixed with new tubes as well?

Which ones are the gain stages? And just to make sure, V1 is closest to the input jack, right?

    Is this normal...?

Yeah it's a pretty big difference. It says so in the manual, but doesn't say why. My guess is because when you flip it to "vintage", it drops voltage going to the power tubes so you have to crank the amp more to get a more vintage-y vibe, as the mode's name suggests.

Stock. I popped a ECC83s into V1 tonight and I didn't really do anything, but then I set my output a lot higher and the channel master lower and that seemed to help quite a bit.

Swap V1 into V4 and V4 into V1? You think that'll help? Haha thats gonna be a *****, I gotta pull all those power tubes, **** Triple Rec. Thanks though man.

    Recto owners!

Really? None of you? Set yours up on Red-Modern with the gain around 2-3 o'clock, and the amp at band volume. Don't play anything. You can't tell me it's totally dead quiet. I have an ISP, all other noises are non-existant except the hiss-y noise. I've been told it's the plague of high gain amps.

    Recto owners!

When you have the amp on at band volumes but aren't playing, it's just at idle, do you guys get that fairly loud "shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.." ? Not feedback, just that ambient hiss. You guys know what I mean. Because my Krank Chadwick with a boost in front hardly makes a peep. Thanks.

    Weird Triple Rec issue

Yeah, I called Mesa and the dude said it was nothing to worry about 'cause it was just the voltage from the wall actually getting to the footswitch power supply. Apparently in buildings with really good power this doesn't happen. They said it wasn't a problem and it's not unheard of. Just...

    Weird Triple Rec issue

Yeah, thats exactly it! And it doesn't happen when the footswitch isn't plugged in, right? So I called Mesa about it. They said all it was was the footswitch power supply. I guess in some situations the voltage takes a second to get to it, and makes that sharp 'bzzsht' noise when you flip the...

    Weird Triple Rec issue

Yeah it comes from the head itself, not from the cab. And I thought it had something to do with the footswitch powering up. I wasn't sure though.

    Weird Triple Rec issue

I just bought a brand new Triple Rec, and I have this weird thing going on. Whenever the footswitch is plugged in, and I turn the power switch ON to let it warm up, the head emits a weird electric buzz-like sound but it is very brief. It last about half a second. The amp functions fine...
