Anyone running a 2x12 that should be horizontal, vertical?

I have a couple of Peavey MC212 cabs, which are vertical slant-front jobbies. They sound great, and look bigger than a 412 when 'pushed together to make a good one'. :) On occasion, I have used one of these cabs on its side to spread the sound. This has been handy when I've done a three-piece...

Poll: What music did you buy your Mesa for. (Primary use)

Lurch, I love you. We should jam. I play everything from ambient to rip-your-face-off, and the RK does it. Even the Series I combo. Polls are still fun, though... :)

Rectoverb 2 and the blues. Silly me, I use channel 1 99%

The first Boogie I ever met was a Rectoverb. The guy in the music shop took the opportunity while the amp was warming up to lay the 'Boogie Schpiel' - you know, the one about how Boogies need to be tweaked, how they need to have a tone 'dialled in', how you had to be patient finding your sound...

My New LSS is Going Back to GC Today - :(

So, either all ducks are made of wood, or the cabinet of my RK combo is made of compressed duck... :)

Why? Did you just have it recovered in Tolex? :)

    RKII Version 1 and 2!!?

I'm thinking that there will be some international wholesalers stuck with old stock. Might be a good time to hit 'em up for a good deal...

? Pondering the purchase of a Road King head ? Overkill...

The Roadster has the front panel features without the rear panel option anxiety, but as Barry said, once you are set, it's that heaven thing... :D

    are YOU a mesa/boogie fanboy?

Yep - Got a Road King... Case closed. :D

    Road King II, Yummy...

I have to agree with all of you... The RK is an incredible machine. I'm running a Series I RK 212 combo, and just keep discovering new things to smile about. I have heard a lot of talk about how hard to 'dial in' Boogies can be, but I've yet to have that problem. I turn it on, turn it up, and...

Road King II cleans and Fender cleans.

What Parksy said. I'm using a RK Series 1 combo, and I'm having a ball with even the 'pre-LS' clean sounds. Channel 1 Tweed w/6L6's takes me back to my first 'real' amp, a Fender Super Reverb.

On the road with the Road King... kinda

Me three. Bummer I didn't think of it... :( We did wind up with a couple of cool posters out of it, after stupidity like this: :) Samples of the posters are on my website. I'd post them here, but that would be way too self-indulgent!

We were actually out for a serious photo shoot, but you know... :)

Triple Rectifier, Road King or something else?

One thing I have found during my brief personal experience with Boogies is that there will always be an option you've overlooked! :? I think they get a cruel pleasure out of the option anxiety they put us through. If you are playing straight-ahead rock stuff, you'd probably be okay with a...

Mesa Single Recto 50 Head newbie Q

Thanks for sharing all of that, Ryan - glad you're having fun now! Just so you know you're not alone in the "D'oh!" stakes... Years ago (when I was playing rockstars), I walked onstage at the beginning of a gig, all fired up and ready to go... the intro tape was running, the crowd was going...

Mesa 2x12 recto cab vs. 4x12

I used some 2x12 cabs to record with back in 1990, and liked them that much I tried them live. I haven't used a quad since. The sound is tighter and more articulate, and there isn't a Boogie on the planet that can't make up for lost bottom end. :D My back is a lot happier too, now that I...

    My friend the guitar guy

Thanks mate. He's a talented guy, I'll give him that. He ships to the US - eight of his awesome polka-dot Flying Vs are heading to American owners in the new year. :) The favourable exchange rates make them very attractive over your way.

    Transporting your Mesa tube amp.

This is a good point. My focus was on the valves, and whether or not they would shake loose if the combo was placed on its front or back during transport. I have been sitting my RK seriesI combo upright in the back seat of my car (no, I don't have a booster seat-hehe). Being a new owner, it may...
