Dual Rectifier three channel for Sludge love???

The Dual rec your refering to (three channel) is a big loose sloppy monster. I have one... And I dig it for what it is... The Orange would be a better amp for lead work and if you want a tighter sound across the board... Both great amps but it depends on what your after... tight or loose...

It says Dual rectifier... now if only I could get that tone

I had a couple of Mavericks... and you will never get the extreme gain out of them the other boogies have. I put jj el84s and beam blockers and that helped take some of the bite off the "normal" sounding one. I never could get ANY jj preamp tubes to work in either of mine. As I mentioned I...

Can I Sue Mesa for making me DEAF?!?

Really? that wasnt my experience at all... My buddy had a Legacy and I had the V-3 and we maxed them out and was really supprised at the lack of overall volume (and tone). My Mesa's walked all over both of them. Now years ago I had the original X100B amps and THOSE were loud.

Dual Recto- effects pedals in loop settings

Id stick the tuner and gate up front and the others in the loop myself. with the type loop a dual rec has (parallel) the gate in the loop wont do a whole lot for you. I dig your speakers by the way (WGS)... I am still using a few of them in a couple of cabs. I plan on getting a few more as soon...

    LSC- sparking problems?

I had something similar happen to me in a Lee Jackson amp... it wasnt a spark though, it was a blue flash in my case. turned out to be a bad power tube. Popped in a new quad and biased it up and it was good to go.

Do you prefer the factory tubes for your Mesa? Or......

I have had less problems with Mesa tubes than many others. I like them.

Fizzy Lifter (Weber Beam Blocker alternative)

I made mine out of black duct tape and they work perfectly. And only cost me about 50 cents each. OLD SCHOOL MAN! :D

    Roadster Appreciation Thread (with settings)

My settings are REAL close to G.I.G. 's settings... almost identical in fact... I use a G-major in my loop now or sometimes a old rockman chorus... I use a combination of a standard recto straight/slant cab or the standard slant w/ the stock vintage 30's. Tubes are mesa... some russian and...

Does Roadster have more gain the the DR's?

I dont think I get any more gain outta my Roadster than I do my dual rec either. Just a tighter less boomy gain.

    Roadster Help Needed Please!!

If you have the loop engaged then make sure you have the send knob on the back turned up. I have made that mistake before myself.

    There's something about boogie?

Thats why they make different gear... different strokes for different folks. I myself like the sounds of many different amps... even the DSL's have a good sound... I just dont like the build quality on the newer Marshall stuff myself. I had the TSL 100 head and It was constantly trying to eat...

    Stock mesa tubes suck ???

I have always had good luck with Mesa tubes. I tried the JJ setup from eurotubes before and it just made my amps darker and less consistant in tone. I think it all comes down to what sounds good to your ears. in my triple channel dual rec I have mesa power tubes and I run a jj 803 in the v-1...

    Proud Roadster Owner!

I think my Roadster smokes all the other amps Ive had as well... Ive also had 6 various boogies and the Roadster seems to have a little of the best of all of them. The PERFECT amp in my opinion.

    eurotubes and rectos...

If you got any questions about Mesa I would contact them. I tried the Eurotubes GZ34 option in my Dual rec once - (ONCE) and it popped a fuse. When I called and talked to Bob about it he told me to up the fuse size in my amp. "I dont think so" Bob might know tubes but Mesa knows amps...

Just bought a 2 channel triple recto!

Yes it does have a fixed bias, but the tubes that are in it have to be within that operating range. So in other words... instead of the amp being able to adjust to any power tubes the bias is fixed and the tubes have to be adjusted to the amp. The preamp tubes will control your gain...

Just bought a 2 channel triple recto!

I dont know about the Jan's but I never really liked the JJ's in the power stage of any of my mesa's. I experiment with preamp tubes all the time but for the power section I only use Mesa tubes myself. When it comes to the gain though that you can control with new preamp tubes (to a degree)...

Rectifier send level too high ?

I know on my Dual Rec. its just a hit and miss balancing act... of the channel volumes and the effects mix on the head as well as the in and out on the G-major and the effects levels and mix. Myself, I get the input balance set (looking at the lights on the g-major) with the amp and the...
