With a few new members acquiring Roadsters, as well as long-time members doing the same, I figured I would start a Roadster appreciation thread with a few pics and my settings.

For those who own a Roadster or have played one, you know there are several ways to skin a cat with this amp. After owning this amp over a year and a half now and having plenty of time to tweak it, I've found that the settings I currently use work best for both band practice and live situations for the type of music I play. Since I play in a hard-rock cover band, I have to be able to cover quite a few sounds. I can accomplish everything I need with my only my Roadster head and my wah pedal. Below are my settings....

Channel 1

mode - "Fat"
100 watts
tube rectifier
reverb - 10:00

master - 1:30
presence - 10:30
bass - 1:00
mid - 10:00
treble - 1:00
gain - 11:30

Channel 2

mode - "Brit"
50 watts
tube rectifier
reverb - 10:00

master - 11:00
presence - 10:30
bass - 2:00
mid - 2:00
treble - 1:30
gain - 3:30

Channel 3

mode - "Vintage"
100 watts
diode rectifier
reverb - 8:00

master - 12:00
presence - 11:30
bass - 2:30
mid - 11:00
treble - 2:30
gain - 2:00

Channel 4

mode - "Modern"
100 watts
diode rectifier
reverb - 7:30

master - 10:30
presence - 12:00
bass - 3:30
mid - 12:00
treble - 2:00
gain - 2:00

A little more about my setup....I still have the stock preamp tubes in my Roadster, but recently changed out the stock 6L6's with the GT6L6R2's. I don't want to get into a big discussion on tubes because there are plenty of threads regarding different tubes. I just wanted to throw that out there. Also, I use the "traditional" recto cabs (now called the "Stiletto") and I feel that helps keep the recto's tighter. I don't use any fx or OD pedals with my Roadster.

Below are a few pics of my custom Roadster head. I opted for the solid, black diamond plate front with the brushed aluminum front grill. It sounds as good as it looks....

Very cool idea!

I'm in love with my Roadster. I've been a Boogie user for the last 7 years, and this is by far my favorite that I've owned. I'm running the stock preamp tubes with Tung-Sol EL34B's in the power section. I'm boosting it with a Maxon OD808 and couldn't be happier.

My settings are REAL close to G.I.G. 's settings... almost identical in fact...

I use a G-major in my loop now or sometimes a old rockman chorus...

I use a combination of a standard recto straight/slant cab or the standard slant w/ the stock vintage 30's.

Tubes are mesa... some russian and some chinese in the preamp and for power, mesa 6L6's

LONG LIVE THE ROADSTER!

Awesome setup man! Though did you take that pic just to see how high you could get it? I would have put one head on each cab... That scares me just looking at it :)

I just picked up a Roadster combo. It is my 2nd Boogie. I also have a LSS. All I can say is WOW. This is a lot of amp, capable of many great sounds. I bought it just looking to get a "fix" for my current "jones" for a new high gain sound. I figured it would be at home with channels three and four, and was pleasantly surprised at its clean and classic pushed "tweed" sounds. Very talented amplifier. Hats off to Boogie on this rig.

I posted this in another thread but more apt for this one
dsc02566qt0.jpg

my preamp
V1 - tungsole reissue 12 ax7
V2- high gain JJECC838
V3- Penta labs 12AX7
V4- Penta labs 12AX7
V5- Shuguang 12 AX7C9
V6- Sovtek 12AX7 7LPS

SV6L6GC (winged C's) Power tubes.
My channel settings differ all the time but CH1 on tweed , 2 on Brit , 3 vintage
4 modern. It all depends if it is at home or on stage. Mostly everything on 100 watt but I am finding new sounds all the time with Brit being the most interesting.
I bought this amp for it's diversity and couldn't be happier.
Along with the diversity I get a great sounding amp.

Nice settings G.I.G!!!

here my Roadster combo...love that thing, gives me everything I need!

Pedalboard changed quite a bit since that picture was taken... :D

Thanks for posting your settings. I just got a Roadster 2X12 combo and love it. Always interesting to see other settings- nice for comparison purposes. I didn't see an EQ in your pic - it is a great addition. If you have one - it would also be nice to your settings.

yo just got mine and I having fun so far alot to mess with thats for sure almost too much but sounds great, its gonna take time to get it just right
