Some new videos of the Bluezz Bastardzz - "That lil' ol' ZZ Top cover band from Hamburg..." taken at Hof Südensee in Sörup (northern Germany) by the local TV station Offener Kanal Flensburg on Sep 16th, 2011: My Head's In Mississippi and Fool For Your Stockings by ZZ Top and Walking On The Moon...

    Post your rig part 2

My old posting in part 1 of this thread isn't editable anymore, and the homepage of "that lil' ol' ZZ Top cover band from Hamburg..." moved to another web space provider some time ago, so the pictures are not visible any longer. Here are some old and new pics: Rehearsal room with Tokais LS120...

    MYSPACE Music Links....

I play guitar and sing in two Hamburg-based blues rock bands, the Bluezz Bastardzz where we mostly cover ZZ Top songs and Indigo Rocks with two guitars embracing Stevie Ray Vaughan, Los Lobos and other bands from that area, but doing own songs as well. On live gigs with either of the two bands...

"That lil'ol' ZZ Top cover band from Hamburg..." live videos

Here's a new video from our gig at Hein & Bea's Scheune ("In the barn...") on the isle of Fehmarn on Nov 24th, 2007 where we started with ZZ Top's "Thunderbird": http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=29169607 It's in black & white, because the digicam has a...

Lets hear your Boogies in action....

OK, time to update that old posting of mine a bit: I play in two blues/rock bands now, so I'm using my Mark IIB on more occasions, e.g. for a remix of the Indigo Rocks song "Set me free" where I added a rhythm and a slide guitar using my Tokai LS120. You can listen to the remix and some live...

Al Di Meola - Mesa Boogie?

I think he was one of the Boogie endorsees at the beginning, but I also read that he used Marshalls at some point of his career.

    Favorite SMALL Boogies

I agree that the Mark combos are really heavy, but you can always look for a head and cab combination which is much easier to carry.

european people: anyone bought online from tube-town.de?

I didn't buy anything from them yet, but they seem to be one of the better online shops in Germany. As far as I remember, they even offer an international forum on their site.

Am I crazy for wanting to down-grade??

    Nope, just getting old...

MK2b to MK2c+ "is mine 1 of the few"

There is a general problem with the balance between rhythm and lead channel, because the latter always is too boomy and muddy when you dial in a nice Fender-like clean sound with enough bass. I don't know if the MKIIC+ conversion helps in that issue though, I tuned the lead channel of my 1979...

    HELP!How to use shure57 and sennheiser md421-II???

Not my old MD421, but maybe that has changed with the new model. The old one can dampen the bass response with its ring switch, by the way, but only one step. The MD441 (which one might describe as "more highs and lows") can dampen the bass response with 5 steps and the brightness with two steps...

MarkI (and others...) Power amp vs Pre amp distortion Tone?

I have a Mark IIB 60w head with Thiele cab (EVM-12L) at home, and I love how it sounds at bedroom level, i.e. lead master at ~0.8 and lead drive at ~6, volume 1 at 7. I play mostly bluesrock stuff, but have enough reserve to increase the gain to some '80 metal stuff.
