If you've never heard of the ZVex Machine pedal read this:
http://www.zvex.com/machine.html
He explains it better than I ever could. It's basically a distortion pedal for a distortion pedal. It cuts through absolutely anything, even the heaviest gnarliest fuzz and produces sweet singing sustain. You can literally 'rip notes apart' with this thing as you'll see in the second video. It sounds like you're tearing the sound wave in half.
These were all done with a low guitar volume (4) into the Lead channel of the Mark IV. This pedal is a great texture tool with delays.. I just wanted to show the pedal properly.. the bass that this thing puts out punches you in the chest in person, truly a twisted pedal.

Some stoner rock/fuzz riff thing I made up, nice heavy chunky chords with tons of sizzle.

Same as before but now you hear the machine do it's thing on the solo area. Keep in mind that without the pedal on the signal would barely be overdriven.

This is some riff I made up earlier today when messing around with the machine, it's all tapped out with a low volume, the changes are a lot slower in the real thing but I wanted to squeeze in a lot of the song into the clip.
Anyway, hope you appreciate the madness.. NIN use this pedal a lot live and in the studio and you can tell. They run it into a fuzz (fuzz factory) which I also do but it's too hard to capture on film properly because it literally is absolute uncontrollable chaos. enjoy.
