If you've never heard of the ZVex Machine pedal read this:
http://www.zvex.com/machine.html

He explains it better than I ever could. It's basically a distortion pedal for a distortion pedal. It cuts through absolutely anything, even the heaviest gnarliest fuzz and produces sweet singing sustain. You can literally 'rip notes apart' with this thing as you'll see in the second video. It sounds like you're tearing the sound wave in half.

These were all done with a low guitar volume (4) into the Lead channel of the Mark IV. This pedal is a great texture tool with delays.. I just wanted to show the pedal properly.. the bass that this thing puts out punches you in the chest in person, truly a twisted pedal.

Some stoner rock/fuzz riff thing I made up, nice heavy chunky chords with tons of sizzle.

Same as before but now you hear the machine do it's thing on the solo area. Keep in mind that without the pedal on the signal would barely be overdriven.

This is some riff I made up earlier today when messing around with the machine, it's all tapped out with a low volume, the changes are a lot slower in the real thing but I wanted to squeeze in a lot of the song into the clip.

Anyway, hope you appreciate the madness.. NIN use this pedal a lot live and in the studio and you can tell. They run it into a fuzz (fuzz factory) which I also do but it's too hard to capture on film properly because it literally is absolute uncontrollable chaos. enjoy.

I was just on their site tonight reading all about them. They have some cool stuff! 8) Checking out the vid's now.

I don't know wich is worst, the guitar player or the pedal itself .
One of the most awful tones I've heard in my life.
I'm talking about the demo video.
Sorry I prefer mesa tones.

I friggin love Zvex. I used to have a fuzz probe and a trem probe. the fuzz probe was practically useless in a band situation.....

but I really liked the trem probe. really cool how it worked.

the super hard on is probably my favorite pedal of all time. especially it is the cheapest and best way to run 2 amps simultaneously with no signal loss and no noise.

SHO is a great pedal, I find the FF very usable actually too, never tried the probes however.. wah probe looks neat

wah probe in my opinion is one of the best wah sounds ive heard period. the fuzz factory is an EXCELLENT fuzz, again one of the best I have come across. but the fuzz probe is useless. it can create a lot of noise and some really maddening sounds. but its really hard to create anything musical with it. also the lo-fi loop junky is an awesome pedal

I see what you mean, it took me about 20 min to figure out how to get musical tones out of the FF. Have you tried the wooly mammoth? That's an awesome fuzz too, so is the johnny octane.

not so big on the johnny octane, but I am not such a fan of octavers in general. the wooly mammoth is an awesome thick fuzz. good for leads. its incredible how something really as simple as a fuzz has so many different takes and tones out there

I hear you, I have 3 fuzzes and I'm in the process of buying another lol.. I had skreddy make me a custom '?Lady' called the ? pLADYpus ( ) which just rules for heavy bassy yet cutting fuzz. I'm looking for something totally outlandish right now but the machine does a good job at that too. I love running it into my analog delay and creating wild gain textures with it, it's very atmospheric if you dial it right.

I'm a big fuzz fan, it seems with fuzz that you either love it or completely hate it :p

I love using it for leads over rock stuff. that fuzz lead sound is just to die for in classic rock

totally, especially because you can break out the oscillating fuzz tones during a lead that you can't get away with for rhythm because of all the noise :D
