 I promise I will run out of questions sooner or later!
I found 2 heads and a combo at Rainbow Guitars in Tucson.
I also found a combo at Grandma's in Albuquerque.
Both are about the same distance away from me.
I've been listening to clips on youtube all day and it seems that most guys have exactly the same tones, which I don't like. It seems like most of the guys on youtube have their amps setup in a nasally almost annoying tone. There are some really good ones, but can you guys direct me to some that are stellar instead of just some **** playing crappy Metallica lines?
I really like this guy's tones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44r9-kGuHxE
On this clip anyway! He did have some Sandman clips too, but I just don't really like Metallica.
Also....
What is the physical size of the head and combo? I can't find this on Mesa's site. Usually they list this, but not for this amp.
What is the weight of the combo?
I have an older 1x12 1/2 back cab that fits under a Mark IV widebody perfectly. I would love to be able to use this cab with a V if it will fit!
And....
Finally, combo or head? Yeah, I know it all depends on how I will use it.
I actually prefer combos for the grab and go type of setup, but lately have been really enjoying my DC-10 head with my 4x12.
I guess I could keep my Maverick 1x12 and an OD pedal for the smaller jams. But, then I won't be using the V at jams and it sort of defeats the purpose of having an amp that will do the Maverick tones and so much more.
It just seems like a huge pain in the *** to take a head and cab to a jam session!
I mostly play with my band at our practice space, but want to get back into jamming with other people and really like the idea of a 1x12 combo that is portable.
OK! Done rambling now........................................
