Wicker Grill vs. Cloth

gts is making a head cab and matching thiele for my Mark III, and I was wondering if there would be much of a sonic difference between the wicker grill and cloth grill when recording.

I use a Gibson GA30RVS with the gold metal grills, and the grills really cut your tone when recording. Lots of users have told me they prefer speaker cloth on this amp for the same reason.

What say you; Wicker or cloth grill?

I usually remove grille cloth when recording. So do a LOT of guys. But either one, cloth or wicker, is essentially acoustically transparent...
