Which pedal comes closest to the Mk IIC+ lead tone for you?

I had the okko diablo+ and IMO it doesn't even comes close to a iic+. I would look elsewhere for a low volume boogie tone. Rev Gary have you found any other solutions to this quest?

It just so happens I tried a mystery pedal out last thursday and was shocked. I am using it in rehearsal tonight and if I am still pleased I will unveil it shortly. I think most folks will be suprised. I'm going to throw up a couple of live mics in rehearsal just to see how it sits in with drums bass etc.

yes, that's what I meant: the Diablo doesn't come too close. It's gain is too low and it's character is more into Marshall. Tight and rough. But I was very surprised about the "Dominator": a lot of gain and very fluid.
Actually IMHO no pedal comes close to a cranked Boogie or old Marshall. There is no simulation which captures power tube saturation and loudness. That's the problem: It has to be LOUD.
:D

False alarm, I still can't find anything better than my Fulltone Fulldrive II ( the non-mosfet version). Will keep looking....and looking...and looking

Remember my post on page 2 about the straightjacket and thorazine? When I gave up "the quest", it was like a weight off of my shoulders. The thrill of the chase is fun, but after a while, the thrill is gone! FWIW, it has nothing to do with available gain or tone, but how responsive the amp is to your playing. An amp that "speaks back" to you will greatly influence your playing, rinse and repeat.

A fine synopsis of the C+. :)

Here is a little update. I've been running a Barber Custom B-Super Sport and the Custom B-Cool. I've been running them for about 3 weeks of rehearsals and I'm feeling some love. No its not perfect but at least they allow these little guys on the plane. Hopefully there will be a good sounding fender twin at the other end of the flight to plug them into.

I thought I would revive/update this old thread. I've been using the Barber Super Sport and I picked up a great Barber Dual Discrete custom pedal which is a Super Sport on the left side and a LTD on the right. Played into a clean Fender Twin it's not too bad at all. If I get lazy or have little time to set up as a warm up act I still use the Fulltone Fulldrive into the clean channel of the MKII. Old habits and whatnot....

Anybody else find something else?
