last night i tried to use my old ADA mc1 midi pedal to control my triaxis and gforce during a gig, and it failed miserably.

so, this got me thinking, as to what the BEST midi pedal was?
and can be Phantom powered?

Ground control Pro?

can the behringer be phantom powered?
i need the minimum of cables for live use, and cant have a ac powered pedal...

suggestions?

how can a midi controller failed ?
Its just to change presets.
I have an ada mxc1 for about 9 years, still working.
Light ,cheap,small,2 expression pedals in,perfect.

nothing happened when i pressed some of the buttons.
for example, my main rhythm was preset #53.
i set up 56 as a boost, and 57 as a lead effect, and 58 as something else.

when i hit bank, i was able to switch banks no problem. i was able to select some of the presets, some of the time, but when we were playing live, it locked up or the pedal just wasnt working anymore.
i have had problems at home with this, and just have to think that it's seen its last tour of duty a long time ago (i bought my ada mp1 used a year or so ago).
so...now i need a new pedal...hence why i am going to look for a new one.
i wont use this ada one live ever again.

I found the most reasonably priced high quality solution to be the Ground Control Pro and it can be phantom powered using the phantom power jack on the TriAxis.

I use Rocktron All Access... it´s like a tank too
Few pics of it:

Clear, good display. 7din midi connection with electricity from triaxis.

Instant access switches, for real time effects on/off.

2 places to connect expression pedals.

from 15 switches you can chooce 5 presets and 10 instant switches, or 10 presets and 5 instant switches... or all presets.

Bank style can be just banks, or like i do - song mode.

50 setlists

I like this... as you see

The best one is the one you can afford. I'd try and jump on this one!

Not the best by far, but one that will seamlessly interface with the your G-Force/Triaxis combo is the ART X15. If you read your G-Force documentation, you'll find there's a "template" already built for the X15 in the G-Force. After that making changes to the defaults in the G-Force are super easy.

You can find the X15 for less than $100 on eBay, but make sure you get the later version without the '80's graphics as they have an updated eprom.

*edit* Whoops, I didn't see the requiremnet for phantom power. The X15 definitely doesn't do that.

YES, G-Force is great unit.

It has also own settings for the Rocktron All Access...

If the system of many pedals is the same, then you can take a look how they are built.
NO PLASTIC PARTS, imo

I love my ALL Access so much you can do with it, have mine for 10 years now .
Other thing s the board can do, the switches can be set for momentary or latch. And allot more!!

Hi I'm New Here.

I have used A Triaxis with a X-15 combo for years now,Bought them as a pair in 1992.I've got around the phantom power thing by building an adapter box, with 7 pin din in with mini plug out for power to x-15 and 5 pin din midi thru to the midi in on the X-15.The whole thing could have been placed inside the X-15 but at the time did not wish to void the X-15 warenty, now long over. The only minor problem was the compatablity issue with the mini plug on the wall wart for the X-15 not fitting into the phantom power in put on the Triaxis, which was easily overcome by putting the proprerly mating mini plug on the wall wart power cable after cutting off the original plug and about a foot of power cable which was used for the adapter box.

I'm thinking I might as well just put inside the X-15 now that I'm writing this.

The combination of the two works well together but I can't control program changes for efects seperatly from Triaxis changes,Ie... one or the other seperatly from the other.

I've actually been looking at buying an all access, but I'm a total noobie with midi controllers and couldn't tell exactly how to connect my gear to the all access. Is it as simple as running a midi cable from the midi out on my g force to the midi in on the foot controller?

Yes it´s that simply.

But if you have something else that needs midi, you must connect them too.

I have it like this:

From All Access midi out to Triaxis midi in, then Triaxis midi thru to TC G.Force midi in.
And if you have something like Triaxis, you can run electricity to your midipedal with 7-pin midicable. There goes normal midi (5pin) and electricity (2pin)
So then you don`t need an adapter beside pedalboard. It is beside Triaxis and connects to Triaxis at the Triaxis rear panel.

And from Triaxis to g-force you need 5pin cable(normal midi)

Many units have this system, take a look to your manuals.

Awesome - how do you control something which does not have a midi port? (Say, in lieu of the Road King Foot Controller, or a foot pedal) Is there a way / piece of equipment so that with the push of one button on the all access you can activate a different channel on a non-midi amp, a different patch on the g-force, and a foot pedal, all at the same time?

Thanks for the help!

i don´t know about that. Someone else could help you with that.

But i know that you can do all that with all access.
I think you need something like GCX AUDIO SWITCHER.
I´m not sur but i think that uses midi and can switch on and off our pedals IN THE RACK, and allso switch amps.

Take a look "post your rig" there are guys that has that unit.

Behringer FC1010 seems to be the most popular midi controller these days. I need to find something sometime soon myself. Not sure I need dual CCs which is holding me back from the FC1010.
