This is a 2008 model, I've had since new.

As you can see, it's been modified. The work was done by Martin Whelan of MJW amps in the UK. I had the reverb taken out as I did not use it.

Aside from the reverb, no other mods were done to the amp itself, just it's shell.

I changed out most of the valves. V1 is a Tesla (If I recall), the rest of the preamp are Mesa and the power valves are Svetlana =C= EL34s and 6L6s

The cab is an oversized 1x12, semi open with the Celestion C90 from the combo.

Condition is very good, very few minor nicks in the tolex, hardly noticeable at all.

I'm not sure what value to place on it! Any help?

I try to keep an eye on Mark IV prices on eBay; heads seem to be going for £650 - 900, combos ever so slightly more.

In my experience, custom stuff doesn't really add any value, and puts off some buyers - a stock IV will sell any day of the week but if you want to shift something customised like this you'll be waiting a while unless you cut the price (£800 for the pair?).

It's a nice rig, but if you've got the original combo cab I'd stick it back in there for ease of sale.

Last head went for £1100 on eBay, There's a combo on there for £1400ish (unsold), and in shops second hand combos are around £1600.

A year or so ago the combos were going for £1000, but I don't know the market now....

Maybe prices are picking up? That head that sold recently is mint, bedroom use & with tags etc... - it's the exception rather than the rule, I think. Shop prices are plain crazy most of the time, and a couple of shopkeepers I've asked have told me that Mark series just aren't in fashion right now (it still seems like a buyers market to me).

I would say around £1000 for an all original Mark IV in good condition but like a previous poster already said, it's tough to sell anything custom and based on that I would place your amp at around £700-£800.
If you're gonna sell it on eBay keep in mind that potential buyers are always looking for a good deal or a bargain so make sure to add a best offer option, that definitely attracts more people.

Good luck
Chris
