Since I never use the reverb, can I simply remove the tank from my head? Do I have to make sure all three knobs are kept to zero or it doesn't matter? That way it would help a lot experimenting with different preamp tubes or investigating microphonic ones!

Lastly, if I want to put it back in six months, is there a polarity to the wires?

Thanks

Removing the reverb tank should be fine. It wouldn't matter where the knobs are set. It does matter what way the wires are connected. From my experience if you have them on backwards you get no reverb, or just static as you turn up the knob. Shouldn't cause any damage though.

hey guys, how did you detach the white cord that seems to be wired firmly to both the reverb unit and the head? Mine comes with ruby reverb tank, the black cord is detachable on both - the head as well as reverb itself but the white on seems its non-detachable.

Got the reverb tank off. The white connector is just harder to detach because it does not have all the plastic a normal RCA type normally has. On the tank both are RCA connectors. The white was harder to pull but it came off nonetheless. I can only presume its the same on the head but its so akwardly placed that I simply taped the dangling wires on the inside the head.

The white connector will detach from the amplifier but it's kind of a bear. Use pliers wrapped in cloth, pinch the cable, twist, then gently pull.
