Upgrade Recto's transformer to Mercury or DeYoung?

I haven't done anything like this yet, but i want to. My singer has a Voodoo Deluxe modded '82 50w JCM800 and it sounds goooood. I'm dying to hear what a MM tranny does to my dual rec, just waiting for the ca$h to do it.

I would definitely try a great cabinet 1st. If you do a search here, there are numerous topics on cab choices for Rectos.

I like Avatar cabs. They are affordable and sound great.

THD is another great cabinet. Their 2x12 sounds freakishly huge.

Right now, I'm playing a .50 Cal + through a Lonestar 2x12 with Hellatone speakers in it. I love the tones that I can get out of this cab.

I don't play metal anymore, so take it for what it's worth, but for Bluesy Rock these cabs are great.
