Hey guys, Looking for some opinions on the Mark V.

I have been playing and gigging heavy with my F-100 head for about 5+ years now. I have loved it the whole time. Great clean and nice thick crunch. I play in a rock cover band coving hits from the 70's right up to current stuff. Female lead so lots of pop rock stuff (Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson) and 80's (Blondie, Fleetwood Mac). So I need some versatility to go from clean to crunch to lead. We even cover some GnR and Metallica so we cover it all!

The first mark head is due to arrive at my local dealer (finally) by Mid October. Always slow to get new gear up in here (Canada).

So I am looking for opinions on the Mark V as an upgrade from the F100. F100 has had some issues lately plus I am looking to add some more tone. Is the Mark going to give me that "Rock" tone I love in the F but take it to the next level with the three channels and the EQ? Or is it going to be a different animal all together.

Any thoughts or opinions are welcome!
THANKS.
Jeremy

Depending on who you talk to it'll either arrive doa or give you a happy ending and make you breakfast.
Since you threw in GnR and Metallicatz I'd say the V will scratch yer itch. It's got a nice clean on 1, a great classic rock voice on channel 2 and metal gain out the heinie on channel 3. All independant so no shared controls.

I had an F50 and the Mark V is a superior amp. (Those are the two Boogies I've purchased new, come to think of it.)

I upgraded from an F50 to the Mark V. Never looked back. Clean channels is on par if not better. I was never happy with 2nd channel on the F50. Especially in contour mode. Way too flubby. The Mark is nice and tight. YMMV.

Thanks guys. Sounds like I better try the Mark V out as soon as they get one in town here. Couple more weeks I've been told ... can't wait!!!

Any other opinions? Unfortunatly I can't keep both the F and the Mark so I want to be sure of the decision.

i have a mk5 and an f-50, love them both (i still use the f-50 live until i get my mk5 tones, rackunits etc setup) but the mk5 is amazingly flexible! the cleans are awesome, ch2 has some awesome crunch sounds (i love this channel, still playing with it to see what i can do with it)..
i cant tell you to get a mk5, because you may not like it. best bet would be to try it out. but i can highly recommend the mk5 :)
