what a hack job.
that pot is glued to the transformer!?!
 
Actually,if you've ever tried to squeeze anything into a Boogie chassis you'd see that isnt such a bad job.I've done quite a few bias mods in Boogies and I use cermet pots,they are much smaller and they take dc current much better than a standard volume type pot,but even they need to be glued to the board.Assuming that pot was all he had to use,there aint much else you can do but glue it to something.May not be pretty,but it'll work in a pinch.
 
Just got an original Mark I - would anyone have a schematic or specific info on doing the bias pot mod for the original Mk I's?
Plenty stuff about later amps, but I can't find anything on original Mk I's.
just FYI, amp is export series(Australia), serial A495 and curently has Ruby 6L6 and unknown preamp (lettering no longe visible) tubes.
