So about a month ago I had asked you guys what you thought was going on with my dual rec. I would turn it on, there would be a humongous volume drop between channel 1 and channel 2 and 3. (I'm not using any effects loop) I have only had this amp since June and it seemed odd I would be having a problem. It still had all the tubes from the factory within it (yea the Chinese and Russian preamp). So, someone suggested that I get two new JJs and swap them out for V2 and V3. I did this and my troubles were over....or so i thought!

I just went to play it today, while I'm playing the sound is getting weaker and weaker...on every channel. Turn it off, turn it back on, same issue. I then think, maybe it's the V1 preamp since I never replaced that one (it's a Chinese version) So I tested it by putting it into the V2 and swapping that one to V1. i'm assuming that if the tube is dead, V2 and V3 will not work but V1 will because it has the newer JJ in it.

Nope, I randomly got some volume back on Channel 2 and 3 but channel 1 is having the same low volume trouble. Not to mention the gain on channels 2 and 3 is nowhere near it shouldve been with the settings I had on it.

So now I have no idea what it could be....if it happens to be an electrical problem within the amp itself and not a tube do I take it back to Guitar Center and have them go through Mesa about fixing it or?....ARRRGHHH.

Hi, i have the same problem with my new triple before, the first thing happened is the v1 already ugly right from the shipping and the next problem was the symptoms of suddenly losing volume in all channels. It made me so devastating and what i did just, desperately, open the amp from its diamond plate housing, plugged out every tubes, check inside the circuit board mm's by mm's (using a magnifier glass). Strangely, i found many of small diameters tin soldering residue spreading out in some area of the PCB, what the heck with all of those bubbles??. Maybe they came from the soldering process :x (Imagine if someday they gonna be the source of the problem). Try the best to took all em out from the board.
I reckoned the problem of my amp just a 'contact' among the tubes and their sockets, but who know what exactly happened? But after i plugged every tubes again, put the chassis in its housing and firing up the amp, it came back to life! Never had such losing volume since then. Is Mesa today so vulnerable of such problems? Quality control issue?
I've been playing my triple for almost two week and its sound normal, as brutal as it suppose to sound!
Good luck
