tubescreamer question.

i have never tried an ibanez tubescreamer.it seems there are a lot of people that sing its praises...as a boost or whatever.i saw one in a pawn shop today for $30.looked in perfect condition.is there a cheap version of this pedal or something?does it need to be modded?does it suck tone right out of the box?tanks to all for any input.i have a mark 4 and would probably use it to boost r2

for 30 bucks you cant go wrong with a TS9 DX . . . if you dont like it i'll buy it from your for 35usd 8) (yes, i mean it . . .)
