Get rid of the EH tubes in that unit.
Here's what I do with mine.
V1 for vocals balanced Telefunken Ecc83 Smooth plate.
V1 for Bass Guitar balanced Bugle Boy 7025.
V2 is a balanced Blackburn Mullard Ecc83.
V3 is a balanced Mullard 12AT7.
Now it sounds great, these are really nice units, "with good tubes in them",
The tubes they come with are bitter sounding junk.
