I play Floydish and metal music...
I have a couple recent model Theile 1x12's (standard "cube" size with C90's) that I use for wet effect cabs, and my stock Mark V combo for dry tones.
I recently A/B'd the stock combo vs. the Combo + 1 Theile together. Felt like I lost the mid characteristics that I have grown to love about the combo.
I then tried the Theile alone.. Same trouble... The Theiles seem very focused (obviously vs the open back they would..), but something about the mids is lost, or perhaps obscured by the "boomy" nature of the Theile.
Does anyone else happen to like the Combo sound vs. external cabs?
