Tremoverb help

just got a Tverb head used. head sounds ok,the gain on modern red is fizzy as hell past 3/4 or so verb sounds fine but the trem doesnt work. you can hear the rate click when engaged but no effect.any ideas ser# is in the r-5000's

Welcome to the forum.

I run the presence at about 8/9 O'Clock on the red channel. That may help with the fizzzz.
Some run with it off / all the way down.

Congratulation on the new amp.

At this time I believe the Tremoverb and Mark IV are the best of the Mesa amps.

do you know when you amp was produced? I can't find any date and mesa doesn't know.

there is something scribbled in the amp with a black marker. 4 96/ something

there is no / between 4 and 96, but I think that should be the date of production.
