Flamed Walnut 40th anniversary combo retails for $4000. They only made 75 of them, so someone probably bought one and jacked the price up $2000 hoping to find someone that really wanted one yet missed the boat.

It's a nice amp, people will fetch that someday, just not today.

I agree, I want 12 high quality pics from every angle. This auction is one step away from using a stock Mesa photo with a guarantee
it looks just as good or better.
I don't think having that anniversary inlay means anything. Look at the Mark III special cabinet, nameplate etc.. It doesn't appear to add to the price in the resale market. For that matter you could buy a AAAA Flamed maple cabinet Mark IV any day of the week for 1600 or so.
This is where the greed factor comes into play.
I bet it would go nice in the living room next to the PRS Private Stock of a rich enthusiast with to much money and not enough places to spend it.

$6000? I'd rather buy a brand new mark v head, a new Roadster head, 2 cabinets, an a/b/y box, ..... You see where I'm going with this.

I agree.

I mean, lets face it... Mesa's cab shop is basically a custom shop. You can special order that cab (minus inlay) any day of the week.

Yeah, I think I'd buy a mark IIC+, a road king, a couple used mesa trad 4x12's and a couple of my favorite hookers for that price!

The funny thing is that Private Reserve wood finish upgrades are $1200 retail at Boogie. So, a combo with Private Reserve upgraded wood would be $3299 retail. They made 75 40th Anniversaries with custom Walnut and added the little badge for $4,000. So, the badge was $700!

My Private Reserve Amber Stained quilted maple Mark V combo looks nicer than the one or two 40th Anniversary versions I saw at the factory.
