Since the Thiele C90 is a closed back cab...

The only difference with the 1x12 Rectifier cab is the speaker right?

So would the Thiele C90 still be a good match for a Single Recto 50W?

Or the 1x12 Recto Cab is really a better match for a Single Recto?

Any thoughts/experience?

Thanks!

There is a lot more difference between a Thiele cab and a Recto cab besides the speaker.

Simply stated......

Yes, they are both closed back cabs, but the simularities end there. The Recto (and most guitar) cabs are a sealed design, relying on a specific volume of air trapped inside the cabinet for a tight, punchy low end. The Thiele cab is a ported design, simular to sub-woofer designs. The port is tuned to emphasize low frequencies, resulting in a larger, boomier sound from a small cabinet with one speaker.

Speaker selection is a way to fine tune the low-mid to higher frequencies.
