TC G Major or Eventide TimeFactor

I am only going to be using it for delay chorus and reverb
My main selling points are transparency ,sound quality and reliability

G major + midi controller and rack = 700-800$
Eventide with expression pedal and a controller to switch presets - 500-600$

hmm...Would love some hear some opinions

Never heard of the other brand but I'd go for the G major 1 or 2, That's my set up and love it Im using the Roland FC300 Midi controller

The Timefactor only has delays. It has no chorus or reverb. The G-Major covers what you need

Well it has a chorusing effect on the reapets which works for what i need and as for reverb dont really need it rig-talk helped me alot im going with the timefactor

Alright heres more to convince you sounds better has the line level 0db true bypass doesnt mess with your tone or a 6db boost of a buffer which is great in long signal chains which doesnt touch your tone.
Midi controllable

and that add's three more presets 2 expression pedal out's for volume of delay and time.
And delay spillover's

Basically everything i will ever need until i upgrad to an eclipse in a couple years when i dont mind spending 2 grand....

+1 on the Timefactor.

You have the capability of adding modulation to most of the delay modes and it is a nice subtle effect that sounds really good IMO.

As far as reverb, since you can run two different delay times simultaneously, I have been able to get a nice reverb effect by setting one delay very fast (1/64th or 50ms +/- depending on whether I'm in tap tempo or not) and the other to the actual delay time I need. I just need to adjust the mix of the two together to get the reverb effect I'm looking for.

As far as a a separate switch to select presets, I use mine live and use a few different presets and haven't felt the need for one. However, I do have to keep on my toes (pun kinda intended) if I need to switch banks.

With the Timefactor, you can get some chorus type tone with the repeats on the tape echo model. Also, with the multitap delay function, you can get some decent reverb tones as well. There's a preset on bank 1, preset 2, that has that setup...

I have the Eventide Timefactor, and for delays, it's pretty hard to beat...

The Timefactor is an amazing delay pedal with the added bonus of sweet dialable modulation.

Highly recommended.

I've own both, and for your needs, I would go with the timefactor. It can do a reverb and a chorus-ey thing well. The delays are the best I've heard.
I use the gmajor-II for gigs, but for recording and just jamming in the basement, I use the timefactor.

Get a Rocktron Intellifex.

I did not like the way the G-major V1 had a bit of a volume drop with my Roadster, the Rocktron has a built in boost and sounds more analog to me.

You can get them used cheaper, than your options listed and they sound better.

get the time factor for one reason. The g major needs a rack to sit in. It'll start to look lonely all alone in that rack, you will be thrown into a whole other level of GAS. :lol:
