what type of tape do you guys use to mark where to place the mic on a cabinet grill? and how do you do it? do you make a square and place the mic in the center or just a piece of tape and put the mic over it.

I don't really like to cover up the speaker grill because it limits you later on if you want to move (if you're moving the mic into the area that's covered by tape). Also, depending on what studio/venue you're in, mic placement may need to be changed because the same placement might respond differently depending on the room. I usually put tape on the cabinet itself at the top and side to mark the placement if needed, and I'll scribble notes on another piece and put it on the head (amp settings, mic notes, distances, etc).
