Not the song, an actual sound of a breeze coming from the Express. The sound increases as you turn the volume up, it occurs on both channels on either setting. It does not change when you select the contour, it also occurs in both 5 and 50 watts.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like faulty tubes. Swap and compare. The technical term for that sound is Dust In the Wind

I've got a 5:50 2x12 combo and it isn't noisy at all. I have to crank the gain to at least 3 o'clock and the master volume at least past Noon to get any kind of background hiss or noise, and even then it's just 60hz hum.

Operating normally the 5:50 is a relatively quiet tube amp when cranked. Far quieter than other Mesa, Fender, Marshall and Peavey amps I've owned/played. It's quieter than many SS amps I've used too.

If you want silent get a noise gate :D
