Well, I've got everything but a footpedal and now I just need something to control my g major 2 and quad preamp. What does everyone here use and recommend as a midi foot controller?

I was looking at getting a voodoo labs ground control pro although it's a bit pricey at the moment. Does anyone have a Behringer fcb1010 foot controller? They seem like an inexpensive option although I read that just about any Behringer product was complete *****. Has anyone had success with one? Do the two expression pedals work with the gmajor 2?

I'm open to any suggestions as I've never setup any midi gear yet.

Seems like an option along with a GCX switcher which would be cool to be able to run additional pedals in parallel loops but as I understand it the G major 2 has relay switches for the quad's channels so I thought all I would need is just a midi foot pedal to simplify my setup as much as possible for the time being and just run a few seperate pedals before the preamp.

I'm leaning toward the Voodoo labs ground control pro when I get the cash. I just thought it would be good to hear what everyone else is using as a midi foot pedal.

Hey,

I've been using a voodoo labs ground control since they were digital music corp - I've now got two, one for both my different rigs - I would have to say I love them!

The manual is not the best so playing around is a definite must but they are pretty intuitive once you work out how to get into global edit (1 + edit at the same time) and the patch edit (select a patch number then hold edit on its own).

Add a GCX and the possibilities are truly awesome - I use a GCX with my Boogie DC5. The GCX controls my G Major and Rocktron guitar silencer in the effects loop of the DC5 (which is now serial) and the reverb, channel change and EQ all at the same time on the DC5.

On your setup you can assign the relay switches on the G Major to the patch you are accessing and trigger the patch from the Ground control. On the G Major version one you have only one relay switch which is a TRS (stereo) jack so you will need a splitter cable if you are triggering more than one external switch on the back of the Quad – sorry don’t know how the quad is set up ;-) But the Ground control pro is going to do the job for you and compared to the Brawshaw or even Rocktron equivalent they are very good values for money (and I live in the UK where they are £399!!!)

Best of luck ;-)
