....IIIC ? :?

Still a bit unsure of my vintage boogie but this looks like a IIC+ to me, either way its a gorgeous piece of kit, only forty miles from me too.....

A pristine condition Mark III no-stripe. Still, a little high for a MKIII. He's crazy if he thinks he can sell it for the original purchase price and still make a profit. I say an amp like that is maybe worth $1300 (£890) tops. He's asking a bit too much. And don't even bother with the BIN price, that's just insane.

MK III and very nice.

No such thing as a III-C though....

I believe you...I know you wrote the guide on the IIc, but I could have swore I read somewhere that the very, very early Mk 3's were actually very, very late 2's with, basically, a face lift to look like the 3 (or something like that). I think it may have been "http://www.theboogiearchives.com/", but now that site is down.

BB, can you clarify this? Now I am wondering too.
Thanks. Take care! :)

The faceplate might be an altered IIC one, but the preamp boards are completely different. The transformers from the IIC were used until they ran out of the "105". The export versions had the lagre power transformers early on, but reduced in size as time went by.

Exactly.

Interesting stuff!

Funny theres a IIC+ for sale over here that has all the tolex missing and a couple of knobs gone, probably about a 5/10, then theres this pristine example of a III with literature, case etc and they are both roughly the same cost! Around a grand!

Personally I would love either of these just to covet, the III is more appealing due to the care that has obviously been lavished on it, Im not sure either will sell over here though, Boogie isnt such a massive name over here for vintage stuff, its more a small dedicated following.
