here's a very short clip recorded with my studio pre (recording out)... sorry if recording quality isn't that good (not preamp's fault) and volume level is quite low...
it's a little part taken from "take the time" by dream theater

guitar is a fender standard strat, no ext effects.

Nice! I thought it didn't sound bad at all. Did you use a cab simulator at all, or is that purely direct sound? I'd like to hear it in the context of a mix.

BTW, the actual http link above is circular (returns to the same page on the forum). I had to copy/paste the link text. :)

hi, i used one recording output directly into the soundcard (soundblaster audigy2NX), no cab simulators, just as it is. i've already had this problem of the circular link, please tell me how to fix it! i will record a new clip with all instruments soon, so you will ear it in the mix!

hope the link will work well this time...
I recorded it with my standard strat, in fact you can hear there's a noticeable lack of power in the heavier riffs...i'm gonna buying a new bridge pickup...
I also need a suggestion... Before the last riff, there's another one in 7/8 and guitar isn't playng for about 2 seconds...when not playing, you can hear a background noise... could it be a tube problem which generates it?i can hear it only at higain settings...

Nice tone!! was that a Recto pre?

Studio Pre, as mentioned in the thread title and the first post.

thanks to all for the good comments! i hope someone will help me with the noise problem i wrote about in my previous post!

(non-italian speaking folks, sorry bout this post :p)
