Sound difference with only 2 power tubes (2 ch. Dual Rec)

What would the main sound difference be in missing two EL34 power tubes from the middle leaving the two end ones as it says to do in the manual? i have already matched the cab to the new impedance but worried im missing out on better tone because of the two missing

The volume gets a tad lower, and you can get into power tube saturation easier. It's a little spongier IMO also.

Try it both ways and see which you prefer. That's the only way you'll know. I used to run with only 2 E34Ls, but I recently went back to using all 4.

Do you reccomend the el34s over 6l6? cos I bought mine with them already in and never had the chance to compare

That's what I prefer. I like the crispness and the upper midrange of them.
