Just ordered a Mark V 25. I can't wait to get it. I am coming from a Marshall JVM410H. I have just joined the forum. First boogie amp. This is a great source for questions...wow.

Welcome!

When your amp comes in, have patience. It took me a month to dial mine in, and I already had a bunch of Mesa amps under my belt. Check the recommended settings thread.

750Hz GEQ slider is 90% of your tone. Raise to add presence and lower to add low-end.

Rtfm a few times before you get the amp. I've had my mark v for over 5 years and I still go back it read it from time to time. Something always to learn from it.

Read the manual!!! Boogies dial in waaaay differently that weak as marshals where you simply put the gain on max, mids on zero, and spend 2 minutes dialing in the bass and treb. The mids and treble, for example, along with presence have a great deal to do with gain saturation. Rather than pegging the gain, so.etimes its better to lay off the gain, add some midrange and presence and yoyll get a greater saturation than if the gain itself was set higher. Just one example.... Boogies are full of these types of nuances. Seriously, take some time and actually read through the Manuel. I returned my 25, but I actually found it pretty easy to dial in, but I'm used to the big mark fours and roadsters so the mini was cake. For a newb tho, read the manual and be patient. I guarantee the tones are there!!! Oh, and congratulations and welcome to the world of owning a mesa! Wheee!

Thanks again for the tips...I have downloaded the manual and have read it few times and have highlighted several spots to review after my amp arrives. I am excited to have my amp delivered TOMORROW! I imagine that I will have many more questions and posts to read as I start to play and discover what this amp can do. Looking forward to tomorrow!!!
