My new Single rec solo 50 head's chassis doesn't seem to line up with the diamond plate part on the top. I know this is cosmetic, but if I ever decide to sell this amp (probably not) for an upgrade or something, it may detract from the value. Plus it bothers me. ???How is the chassis removed from the case to possibly reposition it so it's square??? It's brand new so this could probably be a warrranty issue but I play out too much to have the amp down and my backup head is out for repair. I just want it perfect and for a $1250 dollar head, it should be. The diamond plate is square with the amp case itself, it's the bottom part with the controls...and it's in 1/4 inch from the diamond plate on the power/standyby switch side. Help. Thanks. I should have noticed this when I bought it, but I was in a hurry. Old head developed a major problem one night before a gig.

Hey,

Pictures would probably help, as I can't say I'm 100% sure what exactly is off (either the chassis or the diamond plate).

The chassis is held in place by 4 screws on the bottom of the head. You can just unscrew them and simply pull the chassis out (be careful not to rip the aluminum foil stuff where the chassis is. It might be that is issue...

...the other issue may lie with the diamond plate. As far as I know the diamond plate is held to the wooden part of the head with some industrial glue. It could have been placed offset, I honestly don't know how to correct this.

Your best bet is probably to call up Mesa and see what they can say. Also, if you bought it from a major chain, most places have like a 90day return policy or something like that, just take it back to them and show them the issue, say it came like that and you didn't notice when purchased, and i'm sure they would replace it, or atleast find some solution.

GL,
Felipe
