Does the Single Rectifier Rect-O-verb combo (Series 1), have speaker outs on the back. I'm thinking about picking one up used. I would like to use the on-board 12" speaker for bedroom jamming, but also have the ability to disengage the on-board speaker and hook up a 4 x 12" for gigs and rehearsal.

I realize this is a dumb question, but I haven't been able to find a picture of the rear panel online. I asked the seller & he told me it had a slave out, so....I thought perhaps he misunderstood the question.

The combo has the same outputs as the head: Two 4 ohm and one 8 ohm.

It's not really a stupid question because a lot of manufacturers have different output configurations for heads and combos.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to find the manual via the boogie site.

I just wanted to make sure before I placed a bid.

Ya some companies don't offer the "speaker-out" on the back of their combo's.

Out of curiosity, anybody have a recommendation for replacing the stock speaker. I think its a 12" Black Widow if I remember correctly.

instead of replacing the stock speaker, I'd recommend a Rectifier 2x12. Big sounding 2x12 and compliments the black shadow well. You can pick up used 2x12's for around $350 if you take your time and look. I ran that way for 6months with mine and still have it.

I'd go for a closed back cab with the recto's. I found my old rectoverb combo to be quite farty and loose at high volumes. The tubes rattled like hell too. I probably would have liked it more and maybe would have kept it if I had a closed back 2x12 and a head. I've grown away from combos myself. Too **** heavy!

Ya, you gotta point there. I dont really know why the idea of replacing the stock speaker even crossed my mind. I fully intended on hooking it up to a 2 x 12 or 4 x 12 anyway.
I might just end up going with the Single Rec head rather than the combo.
As far as sound quality goes, how do you think the newer Single Rec's stack up against the Dual's as far as tone goes.

Just my 2cents... I picked up a new ROV 1x12 combo recently and I'm thrilled. Boatloads of versatility and the modern setting on chan2 recto's the he11 out of me. I'm sure the Dual and Triple affectionados may have a differing opinion but for me it's got plenty of Recto in it. The pushed mode on channel 1 is hypnotic. I run it with my LoneStar and it makes a killer stereo rig. The ROV's Recto stuff is a little tighter through the Roadster Cab I run under the LoneStar, but I'd need another roadster cab as the LoneStar won't let the ROV keep him.

I switched out the Black Shadow for a V30 in the ROV and for me it helped. If you play loud stuff the Shadow might still be the better option though. Good luck with your search.

Single rec and the Dual (I've owned both) are very similar. The tubes you choose are crucial IMO. I preferred the Single rec to the Dual. Then again I'm a 50w guy. Head and 2x12 are much easier to lug around. I don't currently own either but if the right Single Rec comes along....it's mine.

I really liked a Veteran 30 in my RoV combo when I had it.

I just swapped my Ace's speaker with a C90 (from V30) but may switch back and see what the difference is after a few weeks with the other speaker in it. I'm a big fan of swapping speakers and tubes in a combo. I say try a V30 (or better yet a WGS Veteran 30!) in your combo and see what you think.
