I have been using a Trace Elliott GSC212A 212 cabinet since a while and I'm sure it will fully complement the F50 amp which I've just bought.
The cabinet can be used in stereo (two 8 Ohm jacks) or in mono (once the appropriate button is switched, to one jack 4 Ohm is assigned, to the other one 16 Ohm is assigned).
Is there any problem if I connect one of the two 4 Ohm jack placed on the amp rear side, to the 4 Ohm speaker jack placed on the rear of the cabinet?
Please could you advise or indicate me an alternative (do not forget I would like to use the speakers from both the equipments)
regards
Cblues

let me get this straight

so the cab can be can be 4 ohms and 16 mono and 8 aside stereo?

and the f50 has a 2x 4 ohm and one 8 ohm output ?

if yes then you can go ....

4 ohm out into a mono 4 ohm in

8 ohm out into a one side of the stereo 8 ohm (only 1 speaker )

8 ohm out into 16 mono

or

both 4 ohms out into each side of the 8 ohm stereo cab...

Is the F-50 a combo or just a head?

If it is a combo:
4 ohm output -> 8 ohm internal speaker
8 ohm output -> 16 ohm input for extension cabinet

If it is just a head, this is the simplest one cable method:
4 ohm output -> 4 ohm input on the extension cabinet

You can find this info starting on on page 27 of your manual. If you don't have a manual you can get it here: http://www.mesaboogie.com/manuals/F-Series.pdf

dear Shep and Chedgeco,
many thanks for your replies, let me only add that the F50 is a combo (I do not why but I missed to mention it, sorry..) and that, on the amp rear the 8 Ohm jacks is assigned to the internal speaker and below the other two 4 ohm jacks is written: "use with 8 Ohm speakers". The cabinet is exactly as Shep described.
Ciao

go from you 2 4 ohm jacks to each side of your cab in 8 ohm stereo mode and see what that does......i run my rectoverb's internal speaker into one 4 ohm jack and my mesa extension cab into the other 4 ohm jack and the improvement intone is AMAZING!!!!!!!!! alot warmer, browner, and it's puncheir and cuts through the mix ALOT better.

just a thought.
