Or the lack of them in GC. I checked today and the guys said sure they have them in stock and pointed me towards the Transatlantic's! Ugh no. They didn't even know what the Royal Atlantic was or that it was available. Are the Mesa rep's putting GC down on their list of priorities?

All of the GC locations in my area have one... But that's it, one. And I had the same exact thing happen to me, I asked if they had they Royal Atlantic in yet and he said "yeah! I really dig 'em! They are like a Vox AC-30 on Steriods!" Immediately knew he was talking about the Transatlantic and had never heard of the Royal. *sigh*

Guitar Center employees, as a rule of thumb, don't know ****.

I asked a girl in accessories what the difference between the Fulldrive 2 Mosfet and GT-500 was, and her answer was that the GT-500 had more knobs and was therefore more tweakable, and it took her about 30 seconds of stumbling over her words to finally spit that answer out.

When it comes to high end gear, Guitar Center is out of their league.

GC is still a ****** retail job. You can talk about how the customer is always right and stuff, but at the same time what do you want for eight bucks an hour and probably not even full time... if you create real jobs, you end up with real employees who stay in the job, care about what they do and want the business to succeed.

( bah, kids, get off my lawn... )

Like the time I went into GC and was looking at the roadster and the nearest sales rep advised me to try the Mark V, with the eq sliders from left to right like this: max, min, min, min, max. I said aloud, "Yep, sounds EXACTLY like something I would never listen to."

I tried a Royal 100 head at a nearby GC and was really impressed. Serious heavy british invasion. Great cleans on it, too!

Picked up my Black Grille (looks better than that gray one) on Black on Black Royal Atlantic at GC. They only had it for about two weeks.
It's my "go to" amp. Easiest amp to get great sounds out of. I'm playing it through a 2x12 RK cab that I converted to an 8 ohm load.
