reading through some back threads about footswitch popping on a roadster, I understand this is due to a static build up in the relays so does the amp pop with any footswitch or just the OEM one. I'm thinking of using a ground control unit.

btw the workaround of cycling the channels and coming off standby in ch3 works great.
 
I believe the pop is caused by the switching relays in the amp itself, not the footswitch. So I don't think changing footswitches will solve your problem.

I own a Roadster and if I cycle through the channels once before I take it out of stand by, that usually does the trick. I'll sometimes get a small pop once afterwards going to channel 3, but then it goes away.
