Hi guys

just hoping fellow forum members help me out with the control and jack locations on the front panel as I am creating a 3D rendering for a project of mine????

You could import the page from the manual that shows the front and back panel into photoshop. Then import and map the image into your modeling package. Thats what I've done.

I have tried that but it does not give the dimension of the knobs on the pots and switchs as the manual is in 2D!!

Do you or any other forum members have the dimensions for the knobs????

Too bad I don't have access to the files... But my friend made a Roadster combo when we were in grade 12, using dimensions from my Roadster head... If the Road King is the same size, I can measure mine for you, if you want? I'm sure the knobs would be similar, if not identical. :)

Here's what it looked like

And while on the subject, here's the JEM I made, woot! Was really fun to make!

I think the basic dimensions are the same, the dimensions for the knobs would be a great help.

What app did you render the mesa in????

I like the renderings by the way.

Made in Autodesk Inventor 2007... The cool sketch-like renders were with 2008.

Sh**. I just realized, even though it's been gone for a while, I'm lending my amp to someone else for now, so I can't get dimensions...D'Oh! How soon do you need them?

I need the dimensions as soon as possible but post them when you get a chance??

Okay....measuring now...I'll put them into a rough plan-format for you...

Assuming for the head, right? Cause for the combo, just everything is switched around. But you just need the knob stuff anyway...

The small switches (for Vintage/Modern etc.) are sticking out maybe a bit less than half the length of the EQ and TONE shaping knobs (The normal knobs). And the main jewel light is actually some weird geometric shape...But you knew that. I just made it as a circle, cause I could.

I ended up just making some quick, non-overly-detailed parts. Hopefully you can read this. Otherwise, I'll have to upload pieces of it at a bigger res.

EDIT. Gotta make separate pics....Gimme a minute...

Here we go...Dimensions in MM. Disregard the scale markings. That's just for fitting it on the page.
EQ Knobs. The main chrome ones all over the amp.

Base for the small switches used for selecting "Clean/Brit/Tweed" etc.

Base for large switches, as well as being identical to the guitar input(Bold/Spongy/Standby etc.)

Little coloured channel light for each, well, channel.

There you go! Anything I missed, I'll try to get for you!

Thanks for the information I will save the info and will let you know if I need anything alse.

The large switch housing HOLE is actually slightly smaller than the quarter inch input for the guitar, I just realized. An easy change, however. The actual metal is the same size.

Glad I could help. I needed to refresh my knowledge of this program, anyway! :D

I thought there wasnt thanks

Do you have the text from the front panel if so do you have it in any of the following formats eps, illustrator, dxf??

Do you mean the font? Because I know you probably already have the words you need. Uh...I don't. I think my friend just used a standard font that looked similar.

If that's not what you meant, plz clarify!

I know what the words are and where they need to go I was just hoping you had the correct fonts??

It's a pretty easy font to find. It's a really straightforward block-style letter format. Just play around 'til you find one that looks right.
