Hello every one
I've been an avid Boogie fan for a couple of years now, owning A dual rectifier (3ch) and a Stiletto Ace 1x12 combo.
I thought i'd try and get the best of both worlds and a week ago purchased a brand new RKII.
Firstly when I got it home it didin't work.. found out it was a preamp tube (V6) and the shop replaced it. Since then i've used it a couple of times at reasonable (gig)volume and found the following problems:
Loop was on & at 1 oclock (no effects)
Ch3 vintage with 2 EL34's and recto tracking
Preamp 'master' channel volume @ 2 oclock
I found that it wasn't loud enough compared to my normal gigging volume (i'd never felt i pushed the Stilletto or DR in the past)
I had the master 'output' at 2'oclock+ and the solo function at full at one stage but I couldn't get a boost? compared to ch4 modern with 4x6l6 @ preamp vol 9'oclock ..which nearly melted my band mates!
also prior to this occasion noticed fluctuations in volume with this channel but thought I was imagining things.
Heard about V3 & V5 preamp positions and chinese tubes.. replaced all the preamp tubes and still playng up.
(sorry about the long story)
Is CH3 that different to ch4 or my other boogies? Any ideas?
Shop aren't much help .. but I will take it back if it continues.
thanks all
