Rectoverb series 2 issue

While I playing either channel, the volume drops very low and gets very fizzy? I figured it was power tubes to I just replaced them tonight...it still does it. Could it be preamp tubes?
The amp is about 5 years old and has been taken care of quite well, so it's not abuse on my part.
Any advice is appreciated.

It sure could be a preamp tube..... I'd take them out and re-seat all the preamp tubes and see if that helps, you might even switch them around (but keep track of which one goes where) and see if the problem doesn't move with the tube.

Okay guys, last weekend I replaced the power tubes and it didn't fix it. I just replaced all 5 preamp tubes (it needed to be re-tubed anyway) and it's still doing it!!! I spoke with Mike Taylor (i think) at Boogie and he said it had to be a preamp tube.
So what's next? A trip to the amp doctor? I hope it's still under warranty.

Call Mesa back first thing Monday. Hopefully you still have warrenty left on it just in case.

Do you use the FX loop? Try just a patch cable in the FX loop, even if you don't use the loop, it could be dirty contacts in the FX loop jacks.
