Hey guys. I am kinda looking to get rid of my standard Mesa 4x12 cabinet to make a little room. I was thinking of getting a Mesa 2x12 Vertical cab, but was curious, which Mark IV head is designed to fit perfectly on the vertical cab? the medium head or the short head? Also, any other Mark IV owners out there running their head into a cab that they really like and would recommend? I want something that is still going to give a decent bottom end. Are there other 4x12's out there that are perfect with the Mark IV? (I may consider even though I'm trying to make room) and suggestions would as always be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

the vertical and the medium head fit perfectly. Before my vertical 2x12 i had a avatar horizontal 2x12 and although it's not the same as the Mesa horizontal I can tell you that the vertical is way better for me, especially if you have v30 because they are very directional speakers and I always found the avatar to be too muddy. the Vertical was the way to go for me.
Hope I help a bit.

Thanks for the reply, I am really thinking about picking up a vertical, but I don't know how the hell I would sell my 4x12 mesa cab, I definately don't want to have to ship it, maybe craigslist would be an option, the other dilemma is I also wouldn't know where to find a vertical 2x12, again not wanting to have to pay eBay shipping, oh well, that's an entirely different topic, thanks for your suggestions and advice!

MKIV short head fits perfectly on a Thiele cab or compact 1x12 cab. Used to use a Thiele on the bottom, an open-backed 1x12 compact cab on top of that, with the MKIV short head on top. A Baby Booger stack! Fit together like PB & J. Sounded fabulous.
