I've had an LSS and an LSC for about two years. I've had no trouble with either of them but have read the stories of fried power tubes blowing a capacitor and other scary stuff. I run on 5 watts a lot which seems to be problematic for some.

Does anybody have any advice on avoiding these problems? How often to change the power tubes to be safe? And so on?

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't say running on 5w is problematic, but it will wear the tubes out faster. If you're playing live, carry spare tubes (pre and power) and a cross head screwdriver. Didn't I read somewhere that a year and a half is around maximum for a set of tubes?

For LSS you already know about the rectifier tube issue, so just get a NOS tube and don't look back I did. Other than that both LS are pretty reliable, you got to be careful of what you read and take it w/ a grain of salt. 8)
