I am running my Ultra via the 4 cable method. It seems that i really have to crank my output volumes on output1 and output2 to get usable volume. When I use my GSP1101, i can't go past halfway on the output or it will blow your head off.
On the Ultra, I have output 2 almost dimed and output 1 pretty high as well.
Also, my FX send is at about 12 o'clock and my master volume is about 3 o'clock.

How do you have your volumes set?

Seems like I read somewhere in their documentation that both outputs should be set fully on for unity gain in both directions. Then you control volume with your amp, fx levels, etc. Pretty sure that's somewhere in their forum - maybe it was directed at Axe II users, but if there's no clipping, you get all the volume you want that you can control, then don't worry about it - Digitech might have a different program in mind (maybe unity gain is at 12 o'clock), but it definitely won't hurt anything as long as you don't have unwanted clipping. I've used the Axe II with my Mark V head like this, and worked perfect.
