Quad: loud reverb hum and big pop on reverb boost/cancel

Hi, Just recently my quad has become quite noisy when applying reverb, massive amounts of hum. It used to be dead quiet.
It also gets a really loud pop when I switch the reverb boost or cancel on/off.

any ideas on what could be the issue?
