I've been posting regarding my ups and downs with my recently required SC245 Artist (mostly ups by far) and have come to the conclusion that the shorter scale length just isn't a good fit for me. This isn't a huge loss as I have all the bases covered with my USACG 'super Strat' and my '88 PRS Classic and could survive happily with just the PRS Classic Electric.
That said I started looking for something to do with the SC245 and decided to post it as available for trade requesting offers of any sort. I figured it would be up for a while and something would eventually catch my interest.
I received an offer about 2 hours later asking if I might be interested in a PRS Johnny Hiland. I can't believe this never occurred to me before now. I demo'd several of these when they were first introduced and I loved them! As is the case now I had no need for a new guitar then and so I made a mental note that I liked the JH sig model and moved on. I only have the SC245 because I was trading away an amp I was no longer using, had no need for any gear specifically, and was struck curious when I saw the SC245 posted FS/FT.
So now I'm trading a guitar I don't need for another guitar I don't need but one I'm familiar enough with to know that I'm going to dig it (assuming it's not a poor sounding example of a JH). This Hiland is a 10-top stained in translucent black and in new condition. I should have it in about a week or so. Pretty cool.
